Introduction:

We learned in our first discussion that it is not necessary to get bogged down in nine million “how to’s” regarding evangelism.  We need only push ourselves out of our Circle of Comfort into the Zone of the Unknown.  On today, we will continue our discussion.  Specifically, what should guide our thinking as we take that walk?

I.  Delving into the 3D Life

Question:  Have you seen a movie in 3D?  How would you describe it?

·        Assessing the 3D experience;

·        The perspective of Luke

The end result from this episode in the book of Acts is powerful.  But how do we “work up” to that result?

Pondering the “People Principle.”  It can be said that the most important attribute any Christian can have is a love for people.

·        John’s perspective;

Question: What do you see when you see people?

·        Pondering the people in my path;

·        The perspective of Jesus

Question:  When you think of your evangelistic passion, how does it compare with that of Jesus?

The events of Acts 5 would not be possible if the apostles failed to engage people.  But is such engagement happening among people of faith today?

·        A graph of gloom;

·        A question of “trading”

This attitude can cause the Christian’s evangelistic fire to gradually wane and eventually flicker out.  And then what type of behavior results?

·        Having a happy haven;

·        The perspective of Jesus;

·        A contemporary example

Question:  If you were lost, which would be the more attractive method?  Why?

In all this we see that engaging persons and developing friendships is what Jesus did.  It’s what the apostles did.  And it’s at the heart of “the people principle.”  How does all this affect our faith lives here at West Broad?

Conclusion:

We can conclude that developing friendships is vital to our success in sharing Jesus.

·        An application of James;

·        On dreaming Christ’s dream

The great news on today is that this dream can become reality with God’s help and your passion to develop friendships.  The question is, do you have that passion?
