On Affirmation, Acceleration, and Attainment
August 3, 2008
One writer remarked, “There’s no defeat, in truth, save from within; unless you’re beaten there, you’re bound to win.” These are sound words. Scripture also affirms the value of internal strength and courage (Joshua 1:7). That sense of strength and courage is seen in certain affirmations we should all make as we endeavor toward success in this life and the one to come. Specifically:
1. I have a positive self image;
2. I believe in myself;
3. I define my purpose for living;
4. I always focus on the positive;
5. I have confidence and courage to be inner-directed;
6. I have control of my mind, body, and emotions;
7. I always do it now;
8. I have a plan for my success;
9. I visualize my purpose and clearly see it in my mind;
10. I persist in my efforts with unshakable faith in God
Look at this list, West Broad and friends. How many of these affirmations have you made? Understand that affirmation leads to acceleration. That is, once we know what we want to do and/or obtain, we can begin the process of working toward it. And acceleration leads to attainment - the point when we realize our objectives and enjoy success. West Broad can be no greater than its members. Friends, let us all be great in God!
