Neighborhood Outreach
Our congregation works to reach out to our community with the love of Christ in relevant, meaningful ways. Specifically, we host outreach events that include school supply giveaways, community picnics, door-to-door canvassing, educational support, and service projects. In addition, we conduct various felt-needs initiatives. Among these are our “Mommy Monday” outreach for single mothers, “Fit for Christ” summer aerobics initiative, Christmas assistance for families in need, “Homework Helpers” tutoring outreach, and needs-based workshops (finances, sexuality, CPR training). Our church also presents special outreach “days” (Ladies’ Day in the spring and Friends’ and Family Day in the fall) when we invite our neighbors for a morning of celebration, information, and edification.
At West Broad, we firmly believe “if we don’t go, they won’t know.” That being true, our goal is to help as many people as possible in downtown Richmond know the saving grace of Jesus Christ!
