West Broad “Springs” into Faith-Filled Action!

February 26, 2009

CBR002931Why is this woman smiling?  Because she is receiving the gifts of spring.  As the final few weeks of winter pass, saints of the West Broad Church of Christ are gearing up for a new season of exciting ministry, dynamic worship, and energetic Christian service.  In March, we will canvass our neighborhood to share information about the love of Jesus and the full, abundant life possible only in him.  We will also participate in the Ukrops’ 10K Race on 3/28.  April (4/4) will find us conducting our Annual Ladies’ Day.  This year’s theme is, “The Christian Woman: Moving From Good to Godly.” All area women (and those from out-of-the-area, as well) are invited to attend.  We will also engage in an intercongregational effort called Race for the Cross.  Members of the predominantly African-American West Broad church have paired with members of the predominantly White Three Chopt church in an effort to enhance interracial cooperation, awareness, and relationships.  The groups will engage in social activities, service activities, and sacred activities.  Finally, we will enjoy our Gospel Weekend in May (5/15-17).  Brother Kevin Bethea of the East Baltimore Church of Christ will be the speaker.  In addition to the activities listed above, we will also pursue fun, congregational outings in the park and various community service opportunities.  Whew! Spring is here and, as you can see, West Broad is “warming things up” in the Lord!  If you would like to learn more or be a part of these exciting initiatives, please telephone or email us.  We’d love to hear from (and see) you in the coming weeks!
