Our Story
The West Broad Church of Christ was established in January 1999 as a mission effort of the Collegeside Church of Christ in Cookeville, Tennessee. The church was planted with the goal of sharing Christ in downtown Richmond and is the only congregation of churches of Christ in the downtown area.
West Broad began with only six members: James and Seline Nesmith and their four young children. By year’s end, membership had grown to more than twenty. The church focused on worship and praise, community service, development of kingdom family relationships, and outreach and evangelism. These elements continue to be our core values today. By exercising these values and through the blessings of God, West Broad has baptized ninety-five precious souls into Christ and has grown to become a family of 127 people . . . and counting!
