Have you considered our world recently, friend? If you have, you might agree that we are flooded every day with a negative, doom-and-gloom, sky-is falling forecast. Messages from the media, politicians, your social networks, workplace, neighbors, and even your family can contribute to the belief that we as a society are on the edge of destruction. Now, please don't get me wrong. It is true that several negatives on the planet are causes for concern. Injustice, crime, poverty, and disease are serious matters about which we should be both prayerful and responsive. However, if we allow ourselves to be consumed ...
I recall watching an infomercial that promoted a hair replacement formula. I am always skeptical of such products, but the program caused me to think. The persons on the show were losing their hair and wanted desperately to replace it. The fact is, we are all losing our hair. A person 20-30 years of age has about 615 hair follicles per square centimeter. A person who is 50 years old has about 485 follicles per square centimeter. Someone who is 80-90 years of age has around 435 hair follicles per square centimeter. These numbers indicate an average hair loss of ...

Because we at West Broad are his body (Col. 1:24), we are extending the same invitation ...
What do you think about this comic, friend? Unfortunately, it speaks to many well-intentioned people who attend churches today. In congregations each week across the country, there is a warm feeling and sense of ecstatic appreciation regarding the "spiritualness" of Christian faith. During praise times, people sway, dance, cry, and shiver. What they often don't do . . . is learn. Central to faith in Christ is knowledge of Christ (Rom. 10:17). Such knowledge implies the need to be taught regarding Christ (Matt. 28:20). Praise parties might make us excited in the name of God, but do they educate us regarding ...
