Help for a New School Year
Members of the West Broad Church of Christ were blessed to reach out to students in the Maymont community just as the 2010-2011 academic year begins. We distributed school supplies to students in kindergarten through fifth grade, and it was truly a great morning of connection and care. By God's grace, more than ninety packets were provided to youngsters and their families, and each packet was grade-specific and contained materials required by Richmond Public Schools. Terrorism — Another Perspective
Ours is an age of heightened awareness of terrorism and terrorist attacks. Given the attitude and behavior of many Christians, it is obvious that a terrorist attack has been launched against the church. The attack is spearheaded by Christians who are part of secret cell groups operating in several congregations. Members of these groups include Bin Sleepin, Bin Arguin, Bin Fightin, Bin Complainin, and Bin Missin. Set For a Sensational September!
Members of the West Broad Church of Christ are thanking God for the abundant blessings he has showered upon our congregation throughout the summer. We have been able to share his truth with the lost, comfort the hurting, serve the needy, instruct the faithful, orient those who are searching, and encourage the strong. As September begins, the saints at 813 West Broad Street are poised to "dive into" even more engaging effort and family connection in Jesus. A Time to Come Into His House
The Lord offered a special invitation to all people (Matt. 11:28-30). Because we are his body (Col. 1:24), so do we. Christians at the West Broad Church understand that folks are facing challenges. We know they are enduring trials. We understand they are bearing burdens. In fact, each member of our congregation is intimately familiar with these three realities in his or her own life. But we are also familiar with Jesus. By his grace, we come together each week as God commanded (Heb. 10:25) to be strengthened, informed, encouraged, and transformed in the Lord.
